An Expert Advisor (EA) is an automated trading program that runs on platforms like MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5. It follows predefined rules to analyze the market and execute trades automatically.
What EAs do
- Monitor price movements and indicators
- Open/close trades based on set conditions
- Apply risk rules (position sizing, limits, exits)
- Run consistently without emotional decisions
What EAs don’t do
- They don’t guarantee profit
- They can’t eliminate drawdown
- They still depend on market conditions
- They require sensible settings + risk limits
