Cent Accounts (explained)

A cent account is a type of trading account where balances, profits, and losses are displayed in cents instead of dollars. This makes position sizing feel “smaller” while still using the real market.

Quick example

If your balance shows 100,000 cents, that’s equivalent to $1,000.

Why traders use cent accounts

  • They allow smaller position sizes and finer control of scaling.
  • Drawdowns can be easier to manage psychologically and operationally.
  • They can provide a “risk buffer” when running automated strategies.

Why FFDbot prefers cent accounts

FFDbot is designed around controlled exposure and risk buffers. A cent account helps the strategy scale more carefully and operate with smoother equity swings during unusual market conditions.

Note: A cent account doesn’t remove risk — it changes how values are represented and can make sizing more flexible.
